SCOTT PACKMAN PROMOTED TO SENIOR EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, GENERAL COUNSEL AND SECRETARY AT MGM

CHERYL RODMAN NAMED EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT AND DEPUTY GENERAL COUNSEL AT MGM

LOS ANGELES, CA (May 14, 2012) – Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) has promoted Scott Packman to Senior Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary and appointed Cheryl Rodman as Executive Vice President and Deputy General Counsel. The announcement was made today by Ken Schapiro, Chief Operating Officer of MGM.

“Scott has been an integral part of our new management team providing his knowledge of our business and vast experience from his ten year tenure at MGM.  We are thrilled he will be taking on the post of Senior Executive Vice President,” said Schapiro.

Packman, who has served as General Counsel since 2005, joined MGM in 2002.  Packman is a key member of the teams that negotiated the studios’ significant corporate and financing transactions during his tenure, including its current $500 million credit facility; the studio’s co-financing deal with Sony Pictures Entertainment; and its Home Entertainment distribution pact with Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.  As Senior Executive Vice President, Packman will report to Schapiro and will continue to be responsible for the oversight of all of MGM’s legal and business affairs as well as its corporate governance.

“I am thrilled to have Cheryl join our team and provide her unique blend of entertainment and corporate legal experience,” said Packman.  “Having worked with Gary and Roger at Spyglass, she understands the new culture at MGM and the direction that we are moving in.”

Rodman will work closely with Packman in her new role as Executive Vice President and Deputy General Counsel. She will report to Packman as part of the legal and business affairs team where her areas of focus will include MGM’s significant corporate transactions including acquisitions, joint ventures, as well as the company’s financing activities and corporate affairs.   
    
Prior to joining MGM’s legal affairs department, Packman served as General Counsel, EVP of Business and Legal Affairs, and Corporate Secretary with entertainment software company Creative Planet, Inc. where he was a member of a five-person Executive Committee responsible for making all major business and strategic decisions for the company. Previously, Packman was with the law firm of O\'Melveny & Myers, LLP, where he was responsible for negotiating and drafting agreements ranging from motion picture, television and video game distribution, intellectual property, Internet and product placement, to executive employment contracts.

Packman began his career at the law firm of Rogers & Wells in New York. He holds a J.D. from New York University School of Law and an M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin. He currently serves as Board Member and Secretary of Bet Tzedek, a pro bono legal services organization, is a member of the Advisory Committee for the Honors Business Program at The University of Texas at Austin, and a member of the Steering Committee for the UCLA School of Law\'s Annual Entertainment Law Symposium.  

Before joining MGM, Rodman had her own practice, Rodman Ventures, Inc., where she specialized in entertainment and corporate law. Prior to having her own legal practice, she served as General Counsel and Executive Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs for Spyglass Entertainment. Rodman began her career in the White House Office of Presidential Scheduling and Advance, and went on to work as an Associate at Troop, Meisinger, Steuber and Paisich in the corporate and securities department. She holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School, and a B.A. in Political Science from UCLA, graduating summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa.

PARK CIRCUS AT CANNES FILM FESTIVAL 2012

France (April 26, 2012) – International distributor and sales agent Park Circus will have a strong presence at this year’s Cannes Film Festival with two titles selected as part of the Official Selection – Cannes Classics.

We are delighted to announce Sony Pictures Entertainment’s 50th Anniversary restoration of David Lean’s LAWRENCE OF ARABIA will receive its world premiere as part of the Official Selection - Cannes Classics.

From Metro Goldwyn Mayer Studios, Andrei Konchalovsky’s cult thriller RUNAWAY TRAIN, starring Jon Voigt, Eric Roberts and Rebecca De Mornay will also be screening as part of the Official Selection - Cannes Classics to mark the director’s presence at the festival.

In addition to the films taking part in the Official Selection, Park Circus is pleased to present a selection of other titles available for licensing, including Nicholas Ray’s restored WE CAN’T GO HOME AGAIN and Susan Ray’s documentary DON’T EXPECT TOO MUCH. WARNER BROS. PICTURES UNVEILS NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN FOOTAGE OF “THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY” SHOWCASING STUNNING HIGH-FRAME-RATE RESULTS

Burbank, CA (April 24, 2012) – Warner Bros. Pictures screened approximately 10 minutes of never-before-seen footage from New Line Cinema and MGM’s upcoming epic “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” which showcased the filmmaking innovation of 48 frames-per-second (fps), doubling the typical frame rate of 24 fps.  The footage was part of the studio’s presentation at CinemaCon, the official convention of the National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO).

The film, slated for worldwide release beginning December 14, 2012, is the first major motion picture to be made using this state-of-the art high-frame-rate technology.

The footage was introduced via a taped greeting from director Peter Jackson, who gave a bit of history as to how 24 fps became the industry standard and why today’s technology allows for higher frame rates. He also explained that 48 fps is actually closer to the way the human eye views the world.  Jackson offered, “As a filmmaker, I always want to create a strong sense of reality, to allow the audience to lose themselves in whatever the cinematic story is that I’m presenting.  Shooting and projecting at 48 fps gives you the illusion that a hole has been cut in the wall of the cinema, and you’re watching the story unfold with a heightened sense of reality.  It’s terrific for 3D; I’ve looked at the 48 fps dailies for ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ in 3D for over a year now, and with the reduction in strobing and flicker, it is a much more gentle experience on your eyes.  48 fps is not just limited to 3D.  A film shot in 48 fps looks fantastic when projected in 2D, and converts well to 24 fps as well.”

JAMES BOND: UNINTERRUPTED AND ON DEMAND COMING SOON TO SKY MOVIES HD

Sky Movies HD announces deal with MGM to show entire James Bond library

Europe (April 12, 2012) – Sky Movies HD has today announced that the entire James Bond film catalogue, from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, will be available on the service from October 2012.  Customers will be able to enjoy all of the titles from the iconic franchise, as well as upcoming releases, in HD and without commercial interruption.

The twenty-two official Bond titles from EON Productions, from DR NO to QUANTUM OF SOLACE, will be shown on Sky Movies Showcase HD. In addition, the two non EON titles 1967 CASINO ROYALE and NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN will also be available in HD to Sky Movies Showcase HD customers. The upcoming official Bond film SKYFALL, which will be released theatrically on October 26, 2012 in the UK, will arrive on Sky Movies Box Office in the spring of 2013.

The deal marks the first time the complete catalogue of Bond films will have ever been shown uninterrupted and in high definition (HD) in the UK. The films will come into license to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the franchise, with the first film, DR NO, released on 5 October 1962.

MGM BRINGS FIRST SCRIPTED DRAMA SERIES VIKINGS TO HISTORY®

MGM’S EPIC SERIES RECEIVES FULL SEASON COMMITMENT FROM NETWORK

New York (March 13, 2012) – Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, Inc. (MGM) announced today that it has received an order from HISTORY on its first scripted drama series called VIKINGS.   MGM brought the epic drama to the network, which gave it a full season commitment. The series, to be filmed in Ireland and throughout picturesque locations in Northern Europe, will premiere on HISTORY in 2013. Shaw Media will be the broadcast partner in Canada, airing the show on HISTORY Television in Canada. The announcement was made by Roma Khanna, President, Television Group and Digital, MGM.

VIKINGS is an international Irish/Canadian co-production being co-produced by World 2000 and Take 5 Productions. This is the first big series announcement under the new MGM, which will have worldwide distribution rights outside of Ireland and Canada.  AETV has licensed VIKINGS to debut on HISTORY, slated for the summer of 2013.

The series will chronicle the adventures of Ragnar Lothbrok, an actual historical figure, and his family as they live among the savage realities of the Viking culture. Brutal and realistic, the series will accurately represent the time period – from savage battles, to fishing on longboats, to fierce fights for the throne – VIKINGS will illustrate Ragnar’s journey with compelling story-telling and beautiful scenery. The series will be filmed at Ashford Studios, a newly built studio facility in Ireland and throughout stunning locations in Northern Europe.

LASEXTA SIGNS MULTI-YEAR OUTPUT AGREEMENT WITH MGM FOR NEW THEATRICAL RELEASES AND ACCESS TO PRESTIGIOUS LIBRARY

Deal includes Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: There and Back Again, and the new James Bond feature Skyfall

TK/Los Angeles, CA (March 8, 2012) – laSexta has signed an output agreement with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, Inc. (MGM) granting the broadcaster exclusive free TV-rights to the latest MGM theatrical releases for the next three years, including three of their most anticipated titles: Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: There and Back Again; and the new James Bond adventure Skyfall.

The agreement also encompasses the upcoming film version of 21 Jump Street, as well as the recent box office hit The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, among others.  laSexta will also have rights to MGM’s prestigious library as part of the deal, including the 22 films in the James Bond catalog, produced by Eon Productions and MGM.  

The output deal with laSexta gives free TV-rights to air in Spain on both laSexta and laSexta3 channels.

MGM cements int’l network with Lusomundo, Selim Ramia deals

Jeremy Kay, Screendaily (March 8, 2012) – Hot on the heels of clearing debt and securing a $500m revolving credit facility, the revitalised studio’s co-chairmen and CEOs Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum say they have effectively sealed their global distribution network with two fresh multi-year agreements.
 
Zon Lusomundo will release MGM films in Portugal while Gulf Film co-founder Selim Ramia will handle the Middle East. Both deals cover theatrical and home video rights to all MGM-originated product such as the new James Bond film Skyfall, set for release in the US though Sony on Nov 9, and include the two Hobbit films, the first of which is lined up for domestic release through Warner Bros in December.
 
The agreements do not cover summer release G.I. Joe: Retaliation and Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters scheduled at time of writing for January 2013, both of which were co-financed and co-developed with worldwide distributor Paramount. However MGM has retained international TV rights to the pair.
 
“We have pretty much rounded out our distribution network around the globe,” Barber told Screendaily. “The vision was to try to align ourselves with the dominant indigenous distributors who had vertical integration, so if we could get our films placed on the theatrical platform, we believe ancillary would [fall into place.]”
 
The development follows the recently announced partnerships with Svensk for Scandinavia and Forum for Poland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Israel and in some cases the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Territories not covered by the output deals will be handled in most cases by the domestic partner’s international pipeline. All MGM-originated product is subject to the first-look deal with Sony, who will release Skyfall and among others the Robocop remake and action-comedy 21 Jump Street set to open on Mar 16. Warner Bros is handling the bulk of worldwide distribution on The Hobbit films.
 
When MGM co-finances and co-develops projects with another studio, that studio will get the opportunity to handle global distribution.
 
Fox International handles worldwide home entertainment for MGM and Barber and Birnbaum will cut pay-TV and digital distribution deals on a country-by-country basis.

MGM’s development slate includes Punk Farm, Carrie, Poltergiest and The Machine.

MGM’s ROMA KHANNA TO RECEIVE INAUGURAL MIPCUBE

METRO-GOLDWYN-MAYER PICTURES PARTNERS WITH SONY PICTURES ENTERTAINMENT TO CO-FINANCE AND DISTRIBUTE ROBOCOP

LOS ANGELES, CA (March 5, 2012) – Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures has partnered with Sony Pictures Entertainment to co-finance and distribute the film RoboCop, it was announced today by MGM Co-Chairman and Chief Executive Officers Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum and Sony Pictures Chairman and CEO Michael Lynton and Co-Chairman Amy Pascal.   Joel Kinnaman (AMC’s “The Killing”) is set to star in the film, which is a re-imagining of the 1987 Paul Verhoeven cult classic. Sony will handle theatrical marketing and distribution for the film, while MGM will handle production responsibilities as well as theatrical distribution in select international territories. The film will be released on August 9, 2013.

In recent years, the two studios have collaborated on numerous films, including The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, Zookeeper, Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, 21, Yours, Mine and Ours, The Pink Panther, the upcoming release 21 Jump Street (March 16, 2012) and the next Bond installment, Skyfall, which will be released on November 9, 2012.

RoboCop will be directed by José Padilha (Elite Squad) with a screenplay by Josh Zetumer and Nick Schenk.  The film is scheduled to begin production this summer.

Tele München Group acquires THE HOBBIT films and BOND films through multi-year MGM TV output agreement

Tele München Group acquires TV-rights to numerous Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer films and hit TV series for German speaking Europe. Agreement includes Peter Jackson’s THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY and The HOBBIT: THERE AND BACK AGAIN, as well as the new James Bond feature #23 SKYFALL.

Munich / Los Angeles (February 13, 2012) – Tele München Group (TMG) sealed an output agreement with the Hollywood-studio Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) granting TMG the exclusive, free TV-rights to a large number of feature films and TV series for German speaking Europe for a period of five years. This includes more than 200 highlights from the prestigious MGM library.

The output agreement comprises all new MGM productions with a theatrical release in Germany, including the 2011 blockbuster THE ZOOKEEPER with Kevin James (“King of Queens”) that reached approximately 2 million admissions in Germany. THE ZOOKEEPER was one of the most successful films in German theatres last year. The upcoming slate includes the new James Bond action adventure SKYFALL starring Daniel Craig (“James Bond 007”), Academy Award® winner Javier Bardem (“No Country for Old Men”) and Ralph Fiennes (“The English Patient”) which is currently in production. Also part of this deal are THE HOBBIT films written and directed by multiple Academy Award® winner Peter Jackson (“The Lord of the Rings”-trilogy). On the TV side, the deal includes MTV hit series TEEN WOLF featuring Tyler Posey and Crystal Reed as lead characters.

Among the library highlights are all 22 JAMES BOND films produced by Eon Productions and MGM including CASINO ROYALE, as well as multiple award-winning blockbusters like THE TERMINATOR with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Paul Verhoeven’s ROBOCOP and THE PINK PANTHER, starring Steve Martin.

Led by JPMorgan Chase and Deutsche Bank

LOS ANGELES, CA (February 6, 2012) – Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Inc. (MGM) has closed a new $500 million revolving credit facility it was announced today by Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum, Co-Chairman and Chief Executive Officers of MGM.  The financing was provided by a group of banks led by JPMorgan Chase and Deutsche Bank. The syndicate also includes Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Royal Bank of Canada, SunTrust Bank, Wells Fargo, CIT Bank, Union Bank, City National Bank and OneWest Bank.

The credit facility will allow the studio to retire their previous debt while they continue to grow their film and television business, expanding and developing current projects including the films under their partnership with Sony Pictures such as the upcoming “21 Jump Street,” and the latest Bond installment “Skyfall,” as well as the upcoming highly anticipated “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” and “The Hobbit: There and Back Again,” via their partnership with Warner Brothers and “GI Joe: Retaliation” with Paramount. The studio has several other films and television programs in various stages of production and development at this time including films “Robocop,” “Carrie,” “Poltergeist,” and “Punk Farm” and television including “Vikings” and the current “Teen Wolf.”

“A year ago MGM was in bankruptcy and to receive this oversubscribed facility just one year later is proof positive that through careful and efficient business decisions, we have earned the faith of the financial community,” said Barber and Birnbaum. “The operating plan we are employing is working and we are extremely grateful for the vote of confidence from the banks and are increasingly encouraged about the future of our business.”

MGM’s restructuring was made effective in December 2010. As part of its exit financing, arranged by JPMorgan Chase, the studio raised $500 million to fund operations, including production of a new slate of films and television series.

In The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Academy Award®-nominated director David Fincher (The Social Network) uncoils the world of Stieg Larsson’s global blockbuster thriller on the screen. Within the story’s labyrinth lie murder, corruption, family secrets and the inner demons of the two unexpected partners chasing the truth of a 40-year-old mystery.  Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig) is a financial reporter determined to restore his honor after being convicted of libel. Engaged by one of Sweden’s wealthiest industrialists, Henrik Vanger (Academy Award® nominee Christopher Plummer), to get to the bottom of the long-ago disappearance of his beloved niece, Harriet – murdered, Vanger believes, by a member of his large family – the journalist heads to a remote island on the frozen Swedish coast, unaware of what awaits him.  At the same time, Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara), an unusual but ingenious investigator with Milton Security, is hired to do a background check on Blomkvist, a job that ultimately leads to her joining Mikael in his investigation of who killed Harriet Vanger. Though Lisbeth shields herself from a world that has repeatedly betrayed her, her hacking skills and single-minded focus become invaluable.  While Mikael goes face-to-face with the tight-lipped Vangers, Lisbeth plies the wired shadows.  They begin to trace a chain of homicides from the past into the present, forging a fragile strand of trust even as they are pulled into the most savage currents of modern crime.  The screenplay is by Steven Zaillian, based on the book by Stieg Larsson originally published by Norstedts.  The producers are Scott Rudin, Ole Søndberg, Søren Stærmose, and Ceán Chaffin. NETFLIX AND MGM ANNOUNCE MULTI-YEAR PREMIUM PAY TV WINDOW AGREEMENT IN THE UNITED KINGDOM AND IRELAND

Starting In Early 2012, UK And Ireland Netflix Members Will Enjoy Instantly Watching High-Quality Films From MGM And Its Distribution Partners

Beverly Hills, California (November 7, 2011) – Netflix Inc. (Nasdaq: NFLX) and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. today announced a new multi-year licensing agreement that will make Netflix the exclusive subscription streaming service in the UK and Ireland for most first-run feature films from MGM.

MGM titles will be available for Netflix UK and Ireland members to watch instantly in the pay TV window on their televisions, tablets, game consoles, computers and mobile phones, for a low monthly price. Netflix announced last month that it would launch its service in the UK and Ireland early in 2012.
 
Appearing exclusively on Netflix within one year of their local theatrical release will be such films as “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” and “The Hobbit: There and Back Again,” the highly-anticipated prequels to the Academy Award-winning “Lord of the Rings” trilogy by Peter Jackson, “Zookeeper” starring Kevin James, “Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters,” with Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton, and “21 Jump Street,” featuring Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill and Ice Cube.

An extensive selection of great MGM catalogue titles will also be available on Netflix in the UK and Ireland, including “Capote,” “Fargo,” “The Usual Suspects,” “West Side Story” and “The Amityville Horror.”

London, UK (November 3, 2011) – Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli today presented the cast of the 23rd James Bond adventure, entitled SKYFALL.  The film, from Albert R. Broccoli’s Eon Productions, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, and Sony Pictures Entertainment, is directed by Academy Award® winner Sam Mendes and stars Daniel Craig, who returns for his third film as James Bond 007.  The screenplay is written by Neal Purvis & Robert Wade and John Logan.  SKYFALL, which goes into production on Monday, November 7th, will begin its worldwide roll-out in the UK and Ireland on October 26th 2012 and in North America on November 9th 2012.
 
Joining Michael G. Wilson, Barbara Broccoli and Director Sam Mendes were members of the cast of SKYFALL, including: Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Dame Judi Dench, Naomie Harris and Bérénice Marlohe. The filmmakers also announced Ralph Fiennes, Albert Finney and Ben Whishaw.
 
In SKYFALL, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her.  As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

Action specialist Alexander Witt is the 2nd Unit Director.   Gary Powell is Stunt Co-ordinator, Chris Corbould is SFX Supervisor and Steve Begg is Visual Effects Supervisor, all of whom have worked on previous Bond films.

MGM TELEVISION APPOINTS STEVE STARK PRESIDENT OF TELEVISION PRODUCTION

Veteran Television Producer to Oversee Development for Growing MGM TV Division

Los Angeles, CA (October 31, 2011) – MGM has appointed Steve Stark to the post of President, Television Production, it was announced today by Roma Khanna, MGM’s President Television Group and Digital.  Stark joins MGM Television from Steve Stark Productions where he served as President and Executive Producer, leading the company to an overall deal with NBC/Universal Television.

In his new post, the veteran television exec will oversee all aspects of television and content development and production for network, cable and digital outlets. Stark will lead the development of new television properties as well as projects evolving from titles within the MGM library. He will report to Khanna.

“Steve is an extraordinary talent with a tremendous track record and deep relationships in the television industry. His success working across multiple platforms, coupled with his creative energy make him the ideal executive for this position,” said Khanna. “We could not be more thrilled to have Steve on our team as we grow our worldwide television studio business.”  

Stark has been responsible for overseeing or producing more than 1,900 episodes of television throughout his career.  At the helm of Steve Stark Productions, Stark served as Executive Producer on USA Network’s series “Fairly Legal”, now going into its second season, in partnership with Universal Cable Productions and the recent NBC series “The Event” in partnership with Universal Television. His credits also include Executive Producer on CBS’ long-running series “Medium” starring Emmy-winner Patricia Arquette.  Prior to forming his own company, Stark developed “Medium” while serving as President of Grammnet Productions where he also executive produced three seasons of The CW’s “The Game” and the U.S. adaptation of “The Sketch Show” for FBC.

Beginning his career while still in college at Northwestern University, Stark worked with producer Bob Banner on the pilot episode and several subsequent seasons of “Star Search.”  He has previously held the position of Executive Vice President of Development at Columbia Tri-Star Network Television, overseeing the development of drama, comedy and alternative programming. He has also served as Senior Vice President of Current Programming at Paramount Network Television where he shepherded multiple episodes of such series as “Frasier,” “Cheers,” “J.A.G.,” “Becker,” “Nash Bridges,” “Girlfriends,” “Star Trek: Voyager,” “Soul Food,” “Wings,” “Brooklyn Bridge,” “The Untouchables,” “Now and Again” and “Sister, Sister,” among many others.

Stark is the recipient of the Entertainment Industries Council Special Commendation, a Genesis Award, The Prism Award, The Golden Reel Award and is an Imagen Award nominee. MGM APPOINTS DENE B. STRATTON CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Los Angeles, CA (September 20, 2011) – MGM has appointed Dene B. Stratton to the post of Chief Financial Officer, it was announced today by Co-Chairmen and Chief Executive Officers Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum.

Stratton, a nearly 20-year veteran of the Walt Disney Company, most recently served as CFO for internet start-up, TRC Media (Ireland) Limited.  His MGM appointment is effective immediately and he will report to Barber and Birnbaum.

MGM TELEVISION NAMES STEVE HENDRY SENIOR EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF TELEVISION OPERATIONS

Veteran MGM Finance Exec to Oversee Fiscal Operations, Business Planning and Analysis of MGM’s Expanding Television and Digital Department

Los Angeles, CA (September 19, 2011) – MGM has named Steve Hendry to the post of Senior Executive Vice President, Television Operations, it was announced today by Roma Khanna, MGM’s President Television Group and Digital and Ken Schapiro, MGM Chief Operating Officer.  Hendry previously served as MGM’s Senior Executive Vice President, Finance.

Hendry, who has been an integral part of MGM’s finance division for more than 13 years, will oversee the fiscal operations and business planning for the rapidly expanding MGM Television Group and Digital.  Hendry will jointly report to Khanna and Schapiro.

“Steve’s keen insight into MGM and the entertainment industry are tremendous strategic assets for MGM Television and Digital,” said Khanna. “His wealth of knowledge and financial experience make him the perfect candidate to help us continue to grow our TV and digital business.”

In his new role, Hendry will be responsible for financial operations, forecasting, planning and analysis for the division’s production and distribution businesses, in addition to its broadcast ventures and partnerships.

A veteran executive, Hendry has been with MGM since 1998 and has worked primarily in the finance department. Prior to his tenure at MGM, he served as Virgin Interactive’s Vice President Worldwide Planning. Prior to joining Virgin, Hendry was an executive at Paramount Pictures, serving as Executive Director, Financial Reporting.

Hendry began his career in the Entertainment Group of Ernst & Young, and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from UCLA and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia. Hendry is a CPA and a Chartered Accountant (Canada.)

Doug Finberg Joins MGM as EVP, Marketing

Los Angeles, CA (September 6, 2011) – MGM has hired Doug Finberg to serve as Executive Vice President, Marketing, it was announced today by Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum, Co-Chairman and Chief Executive Officers of MGM.

Finberg will oversee all marketing related matters on behalf of MGM, effective immediately. He will also supervise all publicity efforts for the studio and will report to Barber and Birnbaum.

Finberg joins MGM from Finberg Worldwide, a consulting company he formed specializing in entertainment and brand marketing, distribution, production, event strategy and services. Prior to launching his own firm, Finberg served as executive vice president, international marketing at Marvel Studios, where he oversaw all marketing and distribution aspects for IRON MAN 2\'s day and date release around the world via Paramount Pictures, Marvel\'s distribution partner at the time. He was the critical link in bringing THOR, CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER and Marvel Studios\' THE AVENGERS initial launch to the San Diego International Comic Con 2010. Finberg previously served as senior vice president, international marketing for Paramount Pictures International (PPI), which he also helped establish as the studio reinvented its global footprint. In that position, he worked closely with filmmakers to achieve campaigns including advertising, digital, promotions and marketing related initiatives for their releases. For almost 10 years prior to joining PPI, Finberg worked at DreamWorks SKG as an international marketing/creative executive. Earlier in his career, he held positions at LucasFilm, Ltd and MGM/United Artists and served as a consultant for Universal Pictures International. Before moving into feature film, Finberg began his career working in broadcast radio as a producer and promotions coordinator.

Vicky Gregorian has been named Senior Vice President, Domestic Television Distribution; Susan Hummel has been promoted to Senior Vice President, U.S. Basic Cable and Canada Television; Damien Marin will serve as Senior Vice President, Pay Television and Digital Media; and Vinicio Espinosa has joined the studio as Vice President, Latin American Television Distribution. Gregorian will spearhead sales of MGM Television\'s syndicated product, including feature film packages, \"Stargate Universe,” \"Stargate Atlantis,” \"Outer Limits,” and third party acquisition sales, including \"Cash Cab,” throughout the U.S. She will also oversee national sales of the studio\'s digital networks THIS TV and ME TV nationwide, in addition to supervising regional sales managers in the Los Angeles, New York and Dallas markets.

Hummel will be responsible for all Canadian television distribution including pay, digital, free and basic, in addition to the sale of MGM television properties to U.S. basic cable operators. Marin will continue to manage on demand and digital media distribution, while taking on the studio\'s domestic pay television sales in his new role. Marin will also support Hummel in U.S. basic cable sales. Along with Gregorian, they will report to John Bryan, the studio\'s President of Domestic Television Distribution. Espinosa will oversee television efforts in Latin America for MGM, with a focus on expanding and strengthening the studio\'s presence in the region, in addition to servicing existing buyers in pan-regional pay TV, basic cable and free TV. He will report to Chris Ottinger, MGM\'s recently appointed President of International Television Distribution and Acquisitions.

A veteran TV executive and leader, Gregorian\'s vast experience spans 30 years in the industry. Prior to joining MGM Television, she was the Senior Vice President of Domestic Distribution at Litton Entertainment, an independent television distribution company. Gregorian has also served as Executive Vice President and National Sales Manager at Program Partners Inc., where she was instrumental in positioning the company with multimillion dollar commitments in cash license fees for its 2009-2010 seasons. Previously, she ran the syndication division of New Line Cinema, where her department sold more than 300 New Line feature films to hundreds of television stations across the country.

Hummel previously served as both Senior Vice President of North American Television Distribution, and Vice President of Canadian Television Distribution for MGM. She was formerly the VP of Television Distribution for Canada\'s Alliance Atlantis Motion Picture Distribution, and has worked in acquisitions and programming with Comedy Central and Nickelodeon, in addition to working in marketing at Twentieth Century Fox Studios.

Formerly VP of Worldwide On Demand and Digital Media for MGM, Marin has been responsible for maximizing the distribution of MGM\'s full product catalog, in addition to leading the studio\'s exponential growth in digital media distribution. Prior to joining MGM, Marin was the Director, Worldwide TV & Home Video Distribution for Showtime Networks where he oversaw the sales and strategic planning for the worldwide distribution of original programming. Marin holds an MBA and JD from the University of Southern California and has also worked as the Vice President of Corporate Strategy for Wells Fargo.

Espinosa re-joins MGM from Corisco Films, a Brazilian motion picture production company where he served as COO. At Corisco, he was responsible for establishing the company\'s operations in Rio de Janeiro, as well as developing relationships with creative talent and overseeing the development of seven feature length motion pictures currently in pre-production. Prior to Corisco Films, Espinosa worked with MGM\'s Corporate Development team. Espinosa started his career at JP Morgan Chase in New York City, followed by IB Partners in Santiago, Chile, where he covered M&A transactions in Latin America.

MGM Signs Long-Term Distribution Agreement with Forum Film (Cinema City)

Deal Covers Poland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Israel and Includes Both Theatrical and DVD/BluRay Disc Rights

Los Angeles, CA (June 30, 2011) – MGM announced today that it has signed a long-term distribution agreement with Forum Film, the distribution arm of Cinema City International NV (CCI). The deal covers Poland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Israel and includes both theatrical and DVD/BluRay Disc rights. For certain titles, Forum will also cover the Czech Republic and Slovakia for the studio. The pact includes new releases over a five-year period, as well as both of the highly anticipated upcoming two \"Hobbit\" films (set for release in 2012 and 2013) and the next film in the long running \"Bond\" franchise, \"Bond 23\" (due November 9, 2012). MGM and Forum look forward to distributing \"Bond 24\" on a similar basis.

MGM Promotes Chris Ottinger to President, International Television Distribution and Acquisitions

Los Angeles, CA (June 29, 2011) – Chris Ottinger has been promoted to President of International Television Distribution and Acquisitions for MGM it was announced today by Roma Khanna, MGM\'s President Television Group and Digital. Ottinger previously served as Executive Vice President, Worldwide Television for the studio.

In his new role, Ottinger will oversee all of the studio\'s international TV distribution and acquisitions activities, working closely with teams in Los Angeles, London and around the world.  He will report to Khanna.

Ottinger re-joined MGM in 2007 from Fox where he served as Executive Vice President for Fox World and Fox Television Studios International overseeing over 30 format productions per year and overseas production studios in India, France, the UK, Australia and New Zealand. Prior to that, he served as Senior Vice President, Business Development and Co-Production for Paramount International Television. Previously, Ottinger held the post of executive director of business affairs for MGM\'s international and domestic television operations.

MGM and Sony Pictures Entertainment Announce UK Release Date for BOND 23

London (June 1, 2011) – MGM and Sony Pictures Entertainment are delighted to announce the UK release date for the eagerly anticipated 23rd James Bond adventure will be Friday, 26TH OCTOBER, 2012 opening at the Odeon Leicester Square and in cinemas across the UK and Ireland.

The film will open in the United States on November 9, 2012.

BOND 23 will see Daniel Craig continue his role as James Bond in the iconic movie franchise, with British director Sam Mendes at the helm of the as-yet untitled 23rd James Bond adventure. The film will be produced by Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli.

The last two films, Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, had record-high grosses for the Bond franchise, with Casino Royale taking in $599 million in worldwide ticket sales and Quantum of Solace generating $577 million.

Vin Diesel to Produce and Star in The Machine for MGM

Los Angeles, CA (May 19, 2011) – MGM announced today that Vin Diesel will star in and also produce through his One Race Films, the action-comedy THE MACHINE, based on an original script by Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant (NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM, NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM: BATTLE FOR THE SMITHSONIAN, THE PACIFIER), who are also producing. Production is scheduled to start in the fall.

MGM and Sony Pictures Entertainment Partner on The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo

Los Angeles, CA (May 17, 2011) – MGM will become a financial partner on the upcoming Sony Pictures Entertainment film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, it was announced today by MGM Co-Chairmen and Chief Executive Officers Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum and Sony Pictures Chairman and CEO Michael Lynton and Co-Chairman Amy Pascal. Sony will handle marketing and distribution, while MGM will handle select international television licensing for the film.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is part of the recently announced agreement between Sony and MGM to explore co-financing opportunities on future motion pictures produced by each of the respective studios for the next five years. They have most recently partnered on the highly anticipated Bond 23, set for worldwide release on November 9, 2012.

In recent years, the two studios have collaborated on numerous films, including Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, 21, Yours, Mine and Ours, The Pink Panther, and the summer tent pole Kevin James comedy Zookeeper, which opens nationwide on July 8, 2011.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, which will be released on December 21, 2011, is the first film in the three-picture adaptation of Stieg Larsson.s literary blockbuster The Millennium Trilogy. Directed by David Fincher and starring Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara, the film is based on the first novel in the trilogy, which altogether have sold more than 50 million copies in 46 countries and become a worldwide phenomenon. The screenplay is by Steven Zaillian.

Cannell, who will receive posthumous credit. The film is set to be released on March 16, 2012.

Sony will release the next film in this iconic franchise on November 9, 2012 throughout the world except for select International territories, where MGM will directly oversee distribution.

Sony Pictures and MGM look forward to Sony Pictures co-financing and distributing Bond 24 on a similar basis.

Additionally, MGM and Sony Pictures have agreed to explore co-financing opportunities on future motion pictures produced by each of the respective studios for the next five years.

The two studios have collaborated directly and indirectly in recent years on numerous films, including Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, 21, Yours, Mine and Ours, The Pink Panther, and the forthcoming Kevin James comedy Zookeeper.
